Tracing water infiltration through combined non-destructive investigation

In Ans, ArchitectANA carried out a technical assessment following two water-related incidents within a residential building. The purpose of the assignment was to locate the affected areas, investigate potential water paths and objectively assess the probable causes of the observed damage.

The investigation combined visual inspection, local moisture measurements, hygrometric readings and infrared thermography. Tracer testing was also used to follow the movement of water from exterior areas and assess possible correlations with the symptoms observed inside the building.

Combining these complementary methods allows the diagnosis to be refined without destructive intervention and helps identify the areas requiring further investigation or corrective work.

  • Technical assessment of two water-damage incidents in Ans
  • Non-destructive inspection of affected areas
  • Infrared thermography and moisture measurements
  • Water-infiltration tracer testing
  • Cross-analysis of exterior and interior observations
