Understanding the origin of building damage to objectively assess its causes and define an appropriate repair strategy
In Beyne-Heusay, ArchitectANA carried out a joint technical assessment following the appearance of cracking in the rear façade of a residential property, close to works undertaken on the adjoining site.
The assignment included a detailed inspection of the masonry, photographic documentation of the defects, crack measurements and analysis of their morphology, location and development. The observations were compared with photographs taken before the neighbouring works and with the intervention context in order to assess the probable technical origin of the damage.
The assessment also defined the affected area, examined possible deterioration mechanisms and established appropriate corrective measures to restore the continuity and durability of the brick façade.
